LTI Korea invites candidates for Korean Literature Translation Contest for New Translators to help qualified amateur translators build up their professionalism.

Purpose: LTI Korea supports qualified amateur translators in various ways to help them advance to professional level.

Details: The award is given every year for each of the following seven categories: English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.; Each applicant has to translate pre-selected work for each target language.

Eligibility: Anyone is eligible, who has never received translator sponsorship, and who has never translated and published a Korean literary work.; Co-translation/application is not accepted.

※ Only one short story, not the whole book, is expected to be translated and submitted.

Screening: A screening board consisting of independent experts selects candidates.

Details on Awards: Two winners in the English category and one winner in every other category: Plaque and 5 million won

※ Award winners who reside overseas will be compensated for travel and other daily expenses.

※ Applications filed via mail shall be received by LTI Korea by 18:00 on the last day of the applicaiton period.
